It is with great excitement that Arizonans for Children launched the Tutor/Mentor Training Manual. Kaye McCarthy, President of AFC said this at the launch of the Training Manual.
" I am extremely proud of our Tutor/Mentor program which began in 2007, when we acquired the non-profit group Foster Angels and melded its Tutor/Mentor Program into our programs. We serve hundreds of children throughout the county by providing them with one-to-one tutoring and mentoring, thus making a huge difference in their scholastic achievement and self esteem. This training manual will help to support all those valuable volunteer Tutor/Mentors who work tirelessly to raise the hopes of their mentees. I see this as an active tool, constantly revised to meet the educational and emotional needs of youths in foster care."

Donate
Please open your hearts to the most vulnerable members of our community. Arizona’s children need your help. 100% of your donation goes to the foster children's programs--- none will go for administration or fundraising.
Arizonans for Children is a qualifying charitable organization under Arizona tax laws (A.R.S. 43-1088---tax credit for donations to the working poor) therefore cash donations are entitled to a tax credit of up to $200 for single and $400 for married couple filing joint return. This tax credit can reduce taxes for these tax filers more than a regular deduction for contributions to charitable nonprofits, because they may get a dollar-for-dollar reduction in taxes owed.
Contributions can also be given to umbrella organizations, such as Valley of the Sun or Mesa United Way, provided the taxpayer designates that donations be directed to Arizonans for Children. United Way number: 3333085
